Most Important Facts you Need to Know about Aruba
to Make your Decision:
Many people call their place a paradise, however Aruba
is really different, because it's one of the very few places to gather
so many benefits. Let's name them:
Security*:
Aruba does not look like Switzerland
but it is about as safe. You will never ever feel threaten, day or night,
not even uneasy.
Health Issues*:
Unlike most of the Caribbean and Central America, there
are no infectious diseases in Aruba. The tap water is one of the purest
in the World, produced by Aruba's dessalator water plant, the 2nd largest
in the world. Aruba's hospital is at European standards, all doctors
and nurses being either Dutch or trained in Netherlands or the USA.
People:
One of the most pleasant discovery about Aruba
is its population. Almost anyone will be friendly to you. And when we
mean friendly it's really friendly, willing to help you out, not to extend
there hand and get something from you. Maybe is it due to the fact that
Aruba is a melting pot. You will find people from any color of skin
and they will all share with you the pleasure to live on Aruba. Small
parenthesis: most Arubians speak fluently English, and Spanish, and
Dutch and Papiamento... like any European or American do.
GDP per capita is $21,800 (2004), making it one of
the highest in the Caribbean and unemployment is almost non existant.
Weather:
The Aruban weather is very unique due to the
fact that it is warm and pleasant all year long (average 27C - 81F).
Forget the hurricanes which threaten the Caribbean northern islands 6
months per year (download the 2006 hurricanes
chart). Forget the unbearable
heat on most of them during the tourist season. With high Trade Winds
(20+ knots) blowing 24 by 7, you will never feel too hot. Just get under
a shade and the breeze will cool you down instantly.
Beaches:
Just watch the pictures and you will understand
the wide diversity for such a small island. The North-West Coast is lined
with kilometers of beautiful white sandy beaches. It's also where all the hotels are. But
even though it is always possible to find a nice spot on non crowded
beaches. On the South-East Coast are some wild beaches with high surf and still gorgeous white sand. And you will probably enjoy a large white beach just by yourself.
